Chartering Manager

About the Company

We are a dynamic and growing shipping company engaged in international vessel chartering and maritime operations. We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Chartering Manager to lead our chartering activities, expand our commercial network, maximize fleet earnings, and support the company's strategic growth objectives.

The successful candidate will possess strong market intelligence, commercial acumen, and extensive experience in vessel chartering, voyage management, and stakeholder relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead chartering activities and secure profitable vessel employment through spot, voyage, and time charter fixtures.
  2. Develop and implement chartering strategies to maximize fleet utilization, revenue, and profitability.
  3. Negotiate charter party agreements, freight rates, and commercial terms with charterers, shipowners, brokers, and cargo owners.
  4. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, brokers, and industry stakeholders.
  5. Monitor freight markets, vessel positions, and industry developments to identify business opportunities and provide market intelligence.
  6. Oversee post-fixture activities, including charter party compliance, claims, laytime, and operational performance.
  7. Collaborate closely with Operations, Technical, and Finance teams to ensure smooth voyage execution.
  8. Lead and mentor chartering and operations personnel while supporting the company's commercial growth objectives.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline.
  2. Minimum 10 years of experience in vessel chartering, commercial shipping, tanker operations, or related maritime sectors.
  3. Strong knowledge of charter parties, freight markets, voyage economics, and shipping operations.
  4. Proven experience in charter negotiations, vessel fixing, and stakeholder management.
  5. Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  6. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic shipping environment.
