Job Overview

We are looking for a hands-on IT Support Engineer to provide onsite technical support for end users within a corporate and research environment. This role focuses on supporting workplace IT services, resolving device issues, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operation of end-user technology.

The position will be involved in device lifecycle management, user support, and maintaining IT service quality across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite technical support for end-user devices including Windows, macOS, and Linux laptops and desktops
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, operating systems, applications, and IT peripherals
  • Support users during device setup, onboarding, replacement, refresh, and decommissioning activities
  • Assist with device migration initiatives as part of enterprise workplace technology standardization
  • Work with hardware vendors and service providers to coordinate warranty repairs or replacements
  • Support access to virtual desktop environments (VDI) and related connectivity issues
  • Manage walk-in user support services and scheduled device support sessions
  • Handle device distribution and returns through automated locker or loaner device systems
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventory records within the IT service management platform
  • Participate in asset verification exercises to ensure asset records remain up to date
  • Guide users on IT self-service tools and basic troubleshooting where appropriate
  • Ensure incidents and service requests are logged and tracked properly in the service management system
  • Follow internal IT security and data protection requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in IT support, deskside support, or end-user computing roles
  • Senior candidates should have 5 years or more relevant experience
  • Practical experience supporting
  • o Windows, macOS, or Linux environments
    o Microsoft 365 applications and VPN access
    o Endpoint security tools and device configurations
    o Common workplace peripherals such as printers, monitors, docking stations, and mobile devices
  • Experience supporting technical, engineering, or lab-based environments will be advantageous
  • Understanding of ITIL processes such as incident and asset management is beneficial
  • Strong customer service mindset and communication skills
  • Able to support users across different office locations when required
