Director of Operations Payments

You will lead the establishment of operational infrastructure for a regulated payments business, including banking relationships, treasury operations, and financial processes. You will develop and implement operational workflows, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and operational excellence. You will oversee day-to-day operations such as transaction processing, reconciliation, and reporting. You will manage financial performance including P&L and budgets. You will work directly with state and federal regulators to ensure ongoing compliance. You will collaborate with product and engineering to translate business needs into technical solutions, establish KPIs and reporting, and develop risk management frameworks and controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead establishment of operational infrastructure for regulated payments
• Manage banking relationships and treasury operations
• Develop and implement operational workflows policies and procedures
• Ensure regulatory compliance and liaise with regulators
• Oversee transaction processing reconciliation and reporting
• Manage financial performance including P&L and budget oversight
• Collaborate with product and engineering to translate business requirements
• Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms
• Develop risk management frameworks and controls

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in financial operations or payments
• Experience in payments money transmission banking or fintech
• Proven track record building and scaling operational teams and systems
• Experience with treasury management cash flow operations and financial controls
• Understanding of money transmission licensing requirements and compliance frameworks
• Strong leadership and project management skills
• Ability to represent the company with regulators partners and clients
• Basic understanding of blockchain technology and digital assets
• Experience launching new business lines or entities and working in ambiguous fast paced environments
• Preferred direct experience with money transmitter licensing and operations
• Preferred background in payment processing digital wallets or similar financial services
• Preferred knowledge of stablecoins
