Engineer Team Lead, New Markets
You will architect and deliver scalable brokerage systems, own API quality and operational readiness for regional workloads, and drive multi-region and multi-currency platform improvements. You will lead and mentor engineers in Singapore, support regional hiring, act as a senior escalation for incidents, improve monitoring and incident response, and collaborate with product, compliance, and global engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Architect and ship scalable, mission-critical brokerage systems
- Advance the core platform for multi-region, multi-currency, and regulatory contexts
- Own API quality, performance, and operational readiness for regional workloads
- Lead, coach, and develop engineers in Singapore
- Partner with recruiting on regional hiring and interviews
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and engineering culture
- Act as a senior escalation for incidents affecting regional stacks
- Improve monitoring, alerting, and incident response
- Participate in on-call as appropriate for the team’s coverage model
- Work with Product, Compliance, and local stakeholders on regional requirements
- Collaborate across time zones with US and other regional engineering teams
Requirements
- Strong backend engineering experience with Go or equivalent and distributed systems at scale
- Staff-level impact with architecture ownership and cross-team technical leadership
- People leadership experience in direct or matrix management including 1:1s and performance management
- Financial services or fintech experience with trading lifecycle, settlements, and regulatory awareness
- Excellent communication in English and comfort working with regional and global stakeholders
- Experience in Singapore or APAC regulatory and market context (nice to have)
- Experience with microservices, Kubernetes, cloud (GCP or AWS), and event-driven design (nice to have)
- Open-source or community presence (nice to have)
