This is a role within the Castrol organisation and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence. If you are part of the ring-fence, it is expected that your employment will move with Castrol to new ownership.
The role is accountable for supporting Castrol’s corporate functions (Finance, P&C, legal, communications) leading the operation of corporate applications that run in the Castrol group including core platforms such as Workday (HRIS), Finance (SAP-ERP) and treasury. Ensuring business critical systems remain available, high-performing, and cost effective. Working with Procurement, and all functions of the business to bridge digital technical capability with business functional requirements. The role will ensure that all platforms are stable, integrated and continuously evolving.
The role leads a multi-disciplinary team to modernise platforms, digitise end to end processes, and deliver measurable business outcomes while balancing innovation, cost, risk, and regulatory requirements both globally and within the Castrol PU’s.
What you will do...
Product and Platform Strategy
- Define and own the technology strategy and roadmap for corporate function platforms including SAP roadmap.
- Ensure platforms are modern, scalable, integrated, and aligned to business needs and enterprise architecture standards.
- Champion digital opportunities that enhance business performance, reduce cost, and improve user experience.
- Drive process digitisation, use io agentic AI and application rationalisation.
Operational Excellence and Service Delivery
- Ensure stable, secure, and efficient day-to-day operation of all corporate applications, maintaining high system availability and performance.
- Oversee global service delivery operations, including incidents, problems and change - ensuring adherence to SLAs and regulatory requirements.
Governance, Risk and Compliance
- Maintain strong controls across platforms, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity, data privacy and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring robust business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Oversee audit readiness, ensuring accurate, timely documentation and remediation activities.
Stakeholder and Vendor Management
- Act as the primary point of engagement for business leaders across Corporate Functions, translating business needs into clear digital and technology outcomes.
- Manage strategic vendor relationships, ensuring commercial value, contract compliance, and high-quality service delivery.
- Partner with Procurement and Finance to support commercial negotiations, cost optimisation, and long-term vendor strategies.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary, geographically dispersed team to create a high performance culture.
- Establish clear objectives, performance standards, and development plans aligned to organisational goals.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive environment that promotes innovation and continuous learning.
Delivery of Modernisation and Transformation Initiatives
- Lead platform modernisation, process digitisation, and automation programmes to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload.
- Ensure transformation initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to defined business outcomes.
Financial & Portfolio Management
- Be responsible for the budget for corporate function platforms, ensuring effective forecasting, cost control, and value for money.
- Lead the full lifecycle of applications, ensuring structured investment planning and sustainability of platforms.
- Monitor and report portfolio performance, risk, and progress to senior leadership.
What you will bring...
- Extensive global enterprise technology leadership experience.
- Significant experience in enterprise technology, leading portfolios for corporate functions across multiple geographies.
- Deep expertise in ERP / HRS corporate applications.
- Demonstrated leadership across one or more anchor ERP suites (e.g. SAP – preferred, Oracle Cloud ERP or Workday).
- Proven delivery of complex, multi‑country transformations, including SaaS migrations, integrations, data conversions and payroll harmonisation, with ownership of migration, integration and user adoption.
- Experience leading multi‑platform corporate application landscapes (ERP, HRIS), including migration, integration and user adoption.
- Strong product management, service ownership and integration governance experience.
- Demonstrable ability to lead, manage and develop high‑performance, cross‑cultural and multi‑functional teams, creating a strong delivery culture.
- Excellent multi‑functional partnering with finance, HR, commercial and operations leaders.
- Proven vendor management and strong commercial capability, including licence optimisation.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure.
- Comfortable working at pace, consistently delivering to tight deadlines and remaining effective under pressure.
- Solid ability to engage and collaborate with key partners across both technical and non‑technical teams.
- Strategic problem solver who is also delivery‑focused.
- Proactive, with a positive, solution‑focused attitude.
- Detail orientated and quality driven ensuring precise delivery.
- Solid understanding of IT systems and their critical role within a large‑scale, multi‑site, global business.
- Excellent written communication and strong visual skills, with experience producing high‑quality documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
