Legal Systems Engineer
You will lead the design and evolution of the systems that power Legal, combining software engineering, system architecture, and legal domain expertise. You will design, build, and deploy AI-driven solutions, create integrations between ELM, CLM, eDiscovery, and other platforms, and develop APIs, automations, and data pipelines. You will translate experimentation into production-ready solutions, establish patterns and guardrails for safe AI use, provide technical leadership for eDiscovery and information governance, and operate as a hands-on technical lead while adapting to evolving priorities.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve legal system architecture
- Identify and drive automation and AI opportunities for legal workflows
- Design and implement AI-driven solutions and guardrails
- Build and oversee integrations across CLM, ELM, eDiscovery, and other legal tools
- Develop APIs, automations, and data pipelines
- Leverage Databricks and Snowflake for analytics and AI workflows
- Provide technical leadership for eDiscovery and information governance
- Operate as a hands-on technical lead and guide long-term system evolution
Requirements
- 7–10+ years in software engineering, systems engineering, or architecture roles
- Strong programming skills in Python or JavaScript
- Experience integrating SaaS platforms and APIs
- Hands-on experience with AI tools and LLMs (e.g., Claude, Codex, Copilot)
- Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous environments
- Deep ELM/eBilling experience (Brightflag preferred)
- Strong eDiscovery experience (EDRM lifecycle)
- Understanding of legal workflows including contracts, billing, and discovery
- Experience with data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake
