Maintenance & Automation Manager
Accountabilities
What You'll Own Reliability & Asset Management
Develop and execute a comprehensive reliability strategy that improves equipment availability, reduces downtime, and increases overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Lead preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs utilizing CMMS, vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and IIoT technologies.
Establish best-in-class asset management practices to maximize equipment lifecycle performance and reduce total cost of ownership.
Drive improvements in key reliability metrics including MTBF, MTTR, uptime, and maintenance cost performance.
Automation & Smart Manufacturing
Lead the plant's automation roadmap and Industry 4.0 strategy aligned with operational and business objectives.
Identify and implement automation opportunities that improve productivity, quality, safety, and labor efficiency.
Oversee the design, integration, commissioning, and optimization of PLCs, robotics, SCADA, HMIs, vision systems, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
Champion digital transformation initiatives including predictive analytics, digital dashboards, remote monitoring, and smart factory capabilities.
Facilities & Infrastructure Leadership
Ensure reliable operation of all facility systems including electrical distribution, HVAC, compressed air, water, gas, fire protection, and building automation systems.
Develop energy management and sustainability initiatives that improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Lead facility expansion, infrastructure upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
Capital Projects & Continuous Improvement
Manage capital planning and execution for maintenance, facilities, and automation investments.
Develop business cases and ROI analyses for automation and infrastructure projects.
Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to identify opportunities and prioritize improvement efforts.
Leadership & Talent Development
Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team of maintenance, facilities, controls, and automation professionals.
Establish a culture of accountability, innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
Develop technical talent through training, mentoring, succession planning, and skills development programs.
Foster strong cross-functional partnerships across Operations, Engineering, Quality, EH&S, and HR.
Risk, Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and company requirements.
Lead machine safety, LOTO, risk assessment, and facility compliance programs.
Drive cybersecurity awareness and best practices within operational technology (OT) environments.
Develop business continuity plans for critical equipment, utilities, and manufacturing systems.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline).
10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience in maintenance, reliability, facilities, automation, or engineering.
5+ years leading maintenance, automation, or engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading capital projects and automation implementations exceeding $1M.
Strong knowledge of CMMS systems, reliability-centered maintenance, and predictive maintenance methodologies.
Experience with PLCs, industrial controls, robotics, SCADA, HMIs, industrial networking, and automated manufacturing systems.
Demonstrated success improving uptime, reliability, productivity, and operational performance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in high-volume manufacturing, electrical equipment, industrial products, or automation-intensive environments.
Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, or Reliability certifications.
Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies, IIoT platforms, and smart manufacturing solutions.
Experience with OT cybersecurity frameworks and industrial network architecture.
Professional Engineering (PE), CMRP, CRL, or equivalent certification preferred.
