Medical Instrument Technician (Ultrasound)

About the Position: This position is located at Evans Army Community Hospital at Fort Carson, Colorado in the Department of Radiology. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Perform complex diagnostic ultrasound examinations and/or procedures.

Provide training on diagnostic medical ultrasound imaging to a variety of hospital personnel.

Evaluate pediatric, neonatal and fetal anatomy, including fetal heart.

Establish and review operating instructions for ultrasound procedures in accordance with the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine (AIUM).

Perform quality control checks of ultrasound machines; recognizing and reporting malfunctions.

Coordinate with physicians to improve access to care and patient flow.

Provide training on diagnostic medical ultrasound imaging to hospital personnel to ensure quality patient care.
