Medical Instrument Technician (Ultrasound)

About the Position: This position is located in the Diagnostic section, Department of Radiology, Clinical Support Services Directorate in Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center. Shift work is required Mon-Fri Day/Evening/Overnight. Work hours (1)- 0700-1530; (2)- 1500-2330. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Perform difficult ultrasound examinations and determines how best to perform the examination while identifying the medically significant aspects found and documenting that to the Radiologist.

Recognize situations or abnormalities that may require the direct observation and/or real-time scan by the Radiologist.

Follow operational procedures and patient management guidelines to ensure continued accreditation status and quality patient care.

Evaluate equipment performance, ensures that preventive maintenance is done, recognizes equipment problems and quickly initiates action to obtain higher level support.

Conduct hands-on training and technical oversight of other technicians.

Responsible for all local Ultrasound protocols, patient care, operation of advanced imaging and ultrasound equipment.

Performs post processing imaging and calculations/measurements as required for each study.
