Murex Application Support Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer to manage and maintain the Electronic Foreign Exchange (e-FX) Booking System and Channel Trading Platform for Bank Treasury operations. The ideal candidate will provide end-to-end support, ensuring system availability, performance, and reliability for treasury operations, while also addressing critical issues in a fast-paced financial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Support & Maintenance:
- Provide L2/L3 support for the e-FX Booking System and Channel Trading Platform, ensuring high availability and smooth operations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot real-time trading applications to address performance issues and system anomalies.
- Incident & Problem Management:
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement long-term fixes.
- Resolve time-sensitive issues related to trade execution, booking discrepancies, and settlement processes.
- Integration & Testing:
- Collaborate with the development team to test and implement fixes or enhancements for the trading platform.
- Support integration of the e-FX system with third-party applications like market data providers, liquidity providers, and settlement systems.
- Automation & Process Improvement:
- Automate repetitive tasks and monitoring processes to improve operational efficiency.
- Optimize system performance by identifying bottlenecks and tuning configurations.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the primary contact for traders, treasury teams, and other stakeholders during system issues or maintenance windows.
- Document resolutions, technical processes, and best practices for knowledge sharing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong experience in supporting trading systems, e-FX platforms, or treasury applications.
- Proficiency in technologies such as ASP.NET Core, Web API, REST API, and middleware solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of databases, including query optimization and stored procedures.
- Financial Domain Knowledge:
- Understanding of foreign exchange markets, trading workflows, and treasury operations.
- Experience with trade lifecycle management, including execution, booking, and settlement.
- Integration & Messaging:
- Experience with FIX protocol, SWIFT messages, and market data feeds from providers like Reuters or Bloomberg.
- Familiarity with message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure in time-sensitive environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to liaise with technical teams and business users effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronic trading platforms like Murex, Calypso, or Wallstreet Suite.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Exposure to regulatory compliance requirements for financial systems.
- Certification in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) or financial domain expertise.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
