Nuclear Medicine Technician
About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Hood, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
Prepare in-house radiopharmaceuticals for daily use by compounding chemical kits with appropriate quantities of radioactive material.
Initiate/perform acquisition, processing dynamic and static planar and tomographic imaging procedures (e.g., bone, brain, gallbladder, heart, liver, lung, parathyroid, renal, spleen, thyroid).
Perform imaging procedures, utilizing modern methodologies and accurately acquiring and processing data to optimize the studies for the physician's interpretation.
Prepare patients for the procedure, assessing patient needs and condition throughout the entire procedure.
Prepare and administers therapeutic radionuclides at the direction of, and after dose verification by, the nuclear medicine physician.
Perform daily, quarterly, and annual calibration checks on all pharmacy equipment.
