Physical Therapy Assistant

About the Position: This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center, Department of Surgery - Physical Medicine and Rehab in Tacoma, Washington. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Advance in Hire may be authorized. This is available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Provide interpretation of Physical Therapist’s findings to initiate care.

Design a patient progressive treatment plan to improve functional independence.

Make recommendations and utilizes the various modalities of physical therapy, as prescribed, to include diathermy, hydrotherapy, massage, electrotherapy, ultrasound and therapeutic exercise.

Track procedure’s effects on patients, long-and short-term effects of different types of therapy, and appropriateness of a specific therapy.

Provide instruction to patients, family members and/or other health workers to perform selected treatment procedures and functional training activities.
