PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT

About the Position: This position is located at Army Health Clinic, Physical Therapy Service, Monterey, CA Advance in Hire may be authorized. This is available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Administer physical therapy to walk-in ambulatory, general medical and surgical patients with a primary focus on outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine.

Perform general evaluation tests related to strength, mobility and flexibility.

Instruct patients in a variety of exercise programs as well as design and implement injury prevention programs.

Conduct therapy studies and outcome measures to track impact on patients, long and short-term effects of different types of therapy.

Participate in multidisciplinary care planning meetings as necessary.

Research new therapy equipment and make recommendations to clinic chief for purchase.

Utilize a variety of manual therapy techniques (such as IASTM/ART/cupping/joint mobilization/taping) to mitigate pain as needed.
