The Anesthesiologist is responsible for consultation of perioperative anesthetic care to patients, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative anesthetic administration and monitoring, and post-anesthesia care, in compliance with national accreditation standards. Types of surgeries include but are not limited to: General surgery, Orthopedics, Plastics, ophthalmology, Urology, Podiatry, vascular surgery, Thoracic, ENT, and Oral surgery. Duties include: expertise in invasive and non-invasive surgical techniques as established in current delineation of privileges. Responsible for completing patient encounters, notes, and correctly coding visits in accordance with coding guidelines. participate in interdisciplinary patient care plan activities. Maintain skills, proficiencies, and professional knowledge required for licensing and clinical scope of practice. Required to attend staff meetings, serves on committees, teams, workgroups, morbitity and mortality committee, and peer reviews as requested. The Provider will complete CME, VA Training, HIP AA, Security training, and other mandatory trainings. Work may involve participation and education of surgery residents and/or medical or PA students VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards.
