Plumber (Motor Vehicle Operator)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a PERMANENT position as a Plumber (Motor Vehicle Operator) with the Directorate of Public Works, Fort Jackson, SC.

As a Plumber (Motor Vehicle Operator), you will perform the following duties which is not all inclusive list:

Follow written instructions to perform plumbing tasks.

Operate a pickup 3/4 ton truck to transport personnel, supplies and equipment to and from work sites.

Perform minor maintenance such as adjusting replacing and adjusting mixing valves, repacking valves, and replacing valves and basic gauges.

Perform testing and repair on back flow prevention devices.

Modify plumbing pipes to use in repairs and/or installation when necessary.

Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing fixtures.
