Procurement Manager (Data Centers)

You will lead owner‑furnished procurement for large‑scale data center projects. You will define procurement requirements, develop sourcing strategies, run competitive sourcing events, and negotiate contracts. You will create and manage purchase orders and change orders, monitor production and logistics, track supplier performance, and address delivery risks. You will prepare procurement reports, maintain documentation and compliance records, and identify opportunities to improve procurement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, and Operations to define procurement requirements
  • Develop category and sourcing strategies aligned to schedule risk and cost drivers
  • Translate technical specifications into scopes of work, commercial requirements, and procurement schedules
  • Lead vendor prequalification and manage competitive sourcing events and RFP/RFQ processes
  • Analyze commercial and technical proposals and perform total cost of ownership evaluations
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, risk allocations, and commercial contract terms
  • Support contract drafting and manage purchase orders, change orders, and amendments
  • Monitor production, logistics, and delivery of long‑lead equipment and identify schedule risks
  • Track supplier capacity, performance metrics, KPIs and SLAs, and drive issue resolution
  • Maintain procurement documentation, commercial logs, delivery trackers, and risk registers
  • Prepare recurring reporting on cost, lead times, supplier performance, and procurement milestones
  • Ensure compliance with procure‑to‑pay policies, internal controls, and audit requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, procurement, engineering, project management, or related field
  • 2+ years of procurement experience supporting hyperscale, hardware, energy, utilities, industrial, or mission‑critical construction projects
  • Experience purchasing long‑lead equipment such as electrical gear, mechanical systems, generators, switchgear, and cooling systems
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex technical and schedule‑critical contracts
  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices including competitive sourcing, bid evaluation, supplier performance metrics, and RFP development
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to distill technical and commercial information
  • Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to partner closely with internal stakeholders
  • Experience with procure‑to‑pay systems such as Ramp, Workday, Coupa, or SAP Ariba (preferred)
  • Professional certifications such as ASCM, CSCP, or PMP (preferred)
