Product Manager Intern - Shanghai
As an intern, you’ll dive into the heart of product innovation, helping to define and own critical roadmaps that enhance our global online shopping experience, including on key external platforms like Tmall and Douyin. You’ll independently lead initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams from Design to Engineering, to bring exciting front-end features like personalized discovery and interactive shopping flows to life. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the evolution of our online shopping experience. You will play a pivotal part in defining product roadmaps and leading initiatives to deliver innovative front-end enhancements, collaborating closely with various teams to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently pursuing a full time MBA or master’s degree in supply chain, engineering, operations management, or a related field.
Able to work in Shanghai and commit at least 3-4 months to this internship.
At the end of the internship, you must return to school to continue your education or the internship must be the last requirement for you to graduate.
Ability to work through ambiguity and prioritize.
Demonstrated ability to work with partners to clarify business problems, identify process/user experience improvement opportunities, and represent business interests during the design and development of technology solutions.
Bilingual (English + Mandarin) proficiency to support effective collaboration with China-based teams and platform partners.
Preferred Qualifications
Have insights into modern interactive design and development standards; recognize and appreciate the differences between web-based and native app experiences
Direct experience working with or on Tmall and/or Douyin (or similar China platforms like Taobao, JD.com); strong understanding of China’s social commerce landscape, livestreaming, influencer/KOL integrations, payment ecosystems, and regulatory considerations.
Strong technical background, ability to dive into technical details
5+ years of digital or e-commerce product management experience
Possess strong decision making, analytical, and prioritization skills; have experience overseeing and managing complex project schedules
Knowledge of Apple products and industry
