QUANTITY SURVEYOR
Job Summary
Perform comprehensive Quantity Surveying (QS) tasks including obtaining quotations, negotiating with sub-contractors, measuring quantities, preparing claims, and managing contract risks to support building construction projects efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Obtain quotations and negotiate terms with sub-contractors and suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
- Collaborate with Project Team, Consultants, Clients, and Sub-contractors to execute Quantity Surveying tasks accurately and effectively.
- Review main contract documents to identify and advise on risk mitigation strategies.
- Prepare Schedule of Rates (SOR) and cost estimations as required to support project budgeting.
- Manage procurement processes for sub-contractors, suppliers, and specialists, ensuring timely follow-up and formalization of agreements.
- Measure quantities and perform take-offs to prepare main progress claims, variation claims, and evaluate sub-contract variation claims promptly.
- Prepare Variation Orders, claims, and final accounts with accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in tender preparation and related activities as needed.
- Execute all other Quantity Surveying assignments to support project delivery.
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree or Diploma in Building or equivalent qualification.
- Proficient knowledge of Form of Contract (Redas, SIA, and/or PSSCOC) and the SOP Act.
- Computer literacy in MS Office applications.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in building construction Quantity Surveying, preferably in a full QS role for A1 Main-contract or large residential projects.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
