Senior BIM Technician -Civil

  • We are seeking to recruit an ambitious and dynamic Senior BIM Technician to join the Global Capability Center UK Local Government BIM team in Bengaluru to work alongside our UK and International Government projects.

  • The successful candidate will be working in a team environment to develop and deliver projects through various stages of design from feasibility to planning/detailed design and construction.

  • You will be working and supporting a range of infrastructure schemes to independently develop engineering BIM models and drawings under the relevant standards.

  • You will be expected to play a proactive part in the design process and be active on several projects at any given time.

  • You will be contributing to all types of projects.

  • You will be using Civil 3D, Revit, ACC, 3D MicroStation, AECOsim / OpenBuilding Designer, ProjectWise, AutoCAD and other engineering BIM software for the production and development of models and drawings.

  • You will read and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures for Health and Safety including the H&S Policy, H&S Manual, and Local Procedures Manual

  • You will take responsibility for your own personal development with the support of the line manager and follow an agreed development plan.

  • You will assist in the development of others in the team.

Key Competencies / Skills

  • Ability to utilise Civil 3D, Revit, ACC, 3D MicroStation, AECOsim / OpenBuilding, ProjectWise, AutoCAD in adherence to defined CAD & BIM standards to develop 3D modelling, layouts, labelling, dimensioning, sheet layout, design details and other appropriate design concepts.

  • Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models to assist with investigations of engineering problems.

  • Proven ability to work up drawings (plans, sections & details) from Engineers basic sketches to full working drawings.

  • Ability to liaise with the design teams as necessary to coordinate design and drawing production.

  • Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects with the ability to accurately predict the time required to fulfil the individual scopes of work required.

  • Assists with establishing, maintaining and enforcing the use of proper CAD & BIM standards and procedures.

  • Undertake reviews of work produced by others to ensure high quality of CAD output.

  • UK /Internation project experience and working knowledge of UK/International design standards.

  • You should be able to demonstrate some experience and working knowledge of relevant technical design guidance and standards, such as BIM work flow, ISO 19650, Uniclass 2015 etc.,

  • You should be able to understand and communicate BIM and CAD standards for use on Civil engineering projects and possessing an appropriate overall level of knowledge of the UK / International infrastructure design sector.

  • Proficient in the use of standard Microsoft office software.

  • Experience in supervising and coordinating the CAD/BIM output of others within a multidisciplinary project environment.

  • Commitment to work as part of a design team focused on project delivery.

  • Good understanding and knowledge of Multi-Discipline Projects

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • At least one key area such as Diploma/Engineering in Civil Engineering with 6-10 years relevant work experience in Bentley/Autodesk BIM Software's.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Civil 3D, 3D MicroStation / AECOsim / OpenBuilding Designer / Revit (anyone 3D skillset is sufficient).

  • Good working knowledge of the relevant Civil Engineering discipline.
