Senior BIM Technician - Water

The suitable candidate for this role is a BIM Engineer specializing in Civil 3D Drafting & Modelling for Water and Wastewater projects, with a strong focus on Digital Delivery. The role involves close coordination with design engineers and digital teams across India and New Zealand, supporting project delivery through high‑quality CAD and 3D modelling outputs.

The BIM Engineer will take ownership of 2D & 3D modelling, drafting, and preparation of design documentation for water supply and wastewater (sewerage and drainage) infrastructure, including treatment plants, pump stations, and associated piping networks. The role supports projects across all stages, from concept and preliminary design through to detailed design and construction documentation.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining 2D drafting, Revit 3D modelling & Civil 3D producing layouts, profiles, long-sections, and detailed drawings, and ensuring compliance with provided standards, digital requirements and project specifications. The focus is on delivering accurate, coordinated, and construction‑ready CAD deliverables that meet client and project expectations.

  • Deliver high-quality Civil 3D-based BIM and CAD outputs for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including water supply pipelines, sewer networks, stormwater systems, pump stations, and treatment facilities, in line with WSP and client standards.

  • Prepare accurate 2D drawings & 3D models using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit, including plan layouts, long sections, profiles, corridors, cross-sections, and construction-ready drawings.

  • Develop and manage Civil 3D models, including surface modelling, alignments, pipe networks, pressure networks, grading & utility layouts, ensuring design intent is accurately represented.

  • Generate design documentation such as general arrangements, detailed layouts, longitudinal sections, levels, and coordinated drawings suitable for construction and tender purposes.

  • Perform clash detection, coordination, and model integration within BIM environments, ensuring alignment across civil, structural, and MEP disciplines.

  • Produce quantity take-offs, schedules, and material estimates directly from Civil 3D/Revit models to support design and cost planning activities.

  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical) to deliver integrated and constructible design solutions.

  • Liaise with New Zealand / ANZ project teams to support cross-regional delivery, ensuring adherence to NZ/AU standards and digital delivery requirements.

  • Review and check drawings and models to ensure compliance with WSP standards, client specifications, and applicable design codes and regulations.

  • Take ownership of CAD/BIM delivery for packages or projects, contributing to technical discussions, coordination reviews, and design development.

  • Apply and maintain QA/QC processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency of all deliverables.

  • Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and resource requirements to line management.
