Critical Work Functions – Tendering Processes
- Support planning and tendering activities by evaluating environmental factors, regulatory requirements, construction costs, and risk analyses to develop comprehensive design assessments.
- Review cost estimates and resource requirements in collaboration with technical experts.
- Evaluate project schedules, resource planning, and key performance indicators for project success.
- Review contractual terms and tender documents to ensure alignment with project requirements and negotiated conditions.
- Assess contractors’ and subcontractors’ tender submissions.
Critical Work Functions – Project Execution
- Monitor contractors’ and subcontractors’ work to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Review drawings, plans, and variation orders to verify structural integrity, performing necessary calculations and applying modelling techniques where required.
- Ensure project progress adheres to schedules, quality standards are maintained, site inspections are conducted, and technical issues are resolved promptly.
- Review testing and commissioning outcomes to ensure successful project delivery and handover.
- Oversee defect rectification and resolution processes.
- Verify as-built drawings for accuracy and completeness.
Critical Work Functions – People & Organisational Management
- Adjust work priorities and manpower allocation to mitigate project delays.
- Identify training and development needs in both technical and management areas.
- Liaise with consultants and authorities on technical matters and coordinate site activities with subcontractors.
- Provide guidance and support to site supervisors.
- Monitor progress against key project milestones.
- Oversee the financial performance of daily operations.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential clients to support business development.
- Manage and review variations, claims, and liquidated damages.
- Ensure site safety compliance and develop safe work procedures in collaboration with safety personnel.
