Senior Consultant - Project Management

To support our growing Project Management team in our Indian Global Capability Centre (GCC) for the UK/Ireland/India based Infrastructure Planning & Environmental Consents team.

The types of projects that we deliver are highly varied and include some of the UK’s and Ireland’s most exciting and nationally important large-scale infrastructure schemes (for example National Grid’s Great Grid Upgrade, East-West Rail, Sizewell C, Dublin Metro), as well as associated developments and programmes for the built environment. Our clients are public and private entities, and key sectors we operate in include highways, rail, aviation, defence, nuclear, residential and property, energy generation and renewables, and transmission and distribution. We have a broad coverage across the project cycle, from supporting business cases, to securing consents and permits, to design and construction, to operation and finally to decommissioning and demolition.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with team management experience used to working with an international delivery model, to provide high quality project management support services.

  • Assist Project Directors in fulfilling contracted project management obligations throughout the entire project lifecycle, from inception to completion including opportunity governance and pricing, budget creation and change management and working capital management making effective contributions to project management processes, regardless of project scale or complexity.

  • Develop, monitor & track project physical & Financial progress in scheduling software like Primavera P6, Microsoft Project.

  • Assist in developing, monitoring, and reporting on key performance metrics by applying tools and procedures that contribute to successful project delivery.

  • Operate independently with minimal supervision by planning and prioritizing work to ensure scope of service obligations are met.

  • Champion excellent health and safety practices to achieve safe, sustainable, and efficient outcomes that meet agreed objectives.

  • Proactively identify and highlight threats to progress and scope of service obligations.

  • Prepare monthly reports, meeting minutes, and other management documentation to support successful delivery including the monitoring and updating of project schedules and progress against milestones.

  • Assist in developing project management documentation, including project management plans, cost estimates and forecasts, risk registers, project schedules, and stakeholder registers.

  • Undertake information management activities via industry-standard Common Data Environments such as SharePoint and ProjectWise.

  • Work with multi-disciplinary environmental project teams consisting of technical and professional staff and suppliers.

  • Assist in the administration of supplier contracts.

We are looking for a staff member with proven experience in all the areas indicated above and experience working within a large and geographically disbursed environment.

Essential:

Education & Experience

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (such as environment, project management, engineering, science) or a combination of relevant project management experience and qualifications.
  • Relevant 7+ years of experience in Project management industry.
  • Demonstrable project management skills reflecting the responsibilities above.

  • Preferably having project management membership/certification

Language Proficiency

  • Strong spoken and written English, demonstrated by an internationally recognised English language qualification.

  • Confident in obtaining information from people and proactive in approach.

  • Skilled at analysing information from diverse sources and assembling it into meaningful documents (e.g., reports, programs, spreadsheets).

  • Capable of managing, recording, and prioritizing business activities, with the ability to recognize and reconcile conflicts to achieve objectives.

  • Responsive to change, with the ability to accurately record and communicate variations and their consequences.

  • Comfortable receiving instructions, executing defined tasks, and accepting personal responsibility for actions.

  • Understands the importance of supporting overseas managers to fulfil defined contractual obligations.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Proficient with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, MS Suites & Power Bi

  • Knowledgeable about industry standards and best practices in project or design management.

  • Effective team player, able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Evidence of commercial and contractual awareness, with the ability to demonstrate financial acumen and analytical skills. Experience of Oracle systems would be an advantage

  • Professional certification/membership from APM/PMI is desirable.

  • Routinely able to meet tight deadlines projects.

  • Comfortable working independently; highly self-motivated.

  • Able to communicate effectively and efficiently across time zones both in spoken and digital formats.
