Service Engineer

Job Summary

Perform installation, maintenance, testing, and servicing of valve remote control, tank gauging, hydraulic deck machinery, and related electrical and instrumentation systems for marine and offshore applications, including onboard ship and overseas service assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, upgrade, inspect, test, and repair valve remote control and tank gauging systems to ensure operational reliability
  • Conduct testing and commissioning of hydraulic deck machinery following company policies and procedures
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&ID, and hydraulic circuit diagrams to diagnose and resolve system issues
  • Troubleshoot and service hydraulic power units, electrical motor starter panels, solenoid controls, instrumentation, and automation controls
  • Apply knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric actuator functions and principles to support system maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Perform basic PLC programming tasks including upload, download, and operation of SCADA/HMI systems to support automation controls
  • Work independently and collaboratively with team members to complete maintenance and service tasks effectively
  • Travel onboard ships at shipyards, anchorages, or offshore locations as required for system servicing and commissioning
  • Travel overseas to perform service jobs when necessary, ensuring timely and effective support to clients

Required competencies and certifications

  • Minimum Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in Marine, Offshore, Instrumentation & Control, or Hydraulic fields
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and P&ID/hydraulic circuits
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with team members and clients
  • Self-starter with innovative thinking and resourceful problem-solving skills

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric actuator functions and principles
  • Experience troubleshooting hydraulic power units and electrical motor starter panels
  • Familiarity with solenoid control, instrumentation, and automation control troubleshooting
  • Basic skills in PLC programming, SCADA, and HMI systems
