Supervisory Border Patrol Agent (Intelligence)
Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Tucson Sector, Sector Intelligence Unit (SIU), located in Ajo, AZ. Additional selections may be made beyond the total number of vacancies specified using this vacancy announcement. This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally. As a first-line Supervisory Border Patrol Agent (Intelligence), you will serve as a secondary law enforcement officer (under 5 U.S.C. 8336 (c) and 8412 (d)) and be responsible for: Supervising agents that perform arrests and surveillance of investigated subjects. Overseeing all aspects of shift operations and managing, directing and coordinating assignments consistent with the mission and objectives. Developing all-source collection strategies to collect against intelligence gaps, initiating outreach to stakeholders, developing intelligence community partnerships to improve collection methods. Providing briefings to agency components and other law enforcement entities on topics including but not limited to threat activities, transnational criminal organization intelligence, and proactive case deconfliction.
