Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex
Salary: £13.85 – £14.75 per hour
Driving licence preferred (essential for day roles – community access required)

Experienced Complex Needs Support Workers Required


Are you an experienced Support Worker or Senior Support Worker with a background in autism, complex needs, and supporting dysregulated or behaviours.


SDR is launching a brand-new, highly personalised specialist support service in Eastbourne for a young individual with autism, ADHD, a learning disability, and complex emotional needs.


We are looking for calm, consistent and resilient professionals who can provide structured, therapeutic support and help build independence, confidence, and meaningful daily experiences.


This is not a generic support role - it is a small, highly focused service where relationships, consistency, and skilled behaviour support are essential.


About the Role

You will support a young individual to access the community, build routines, and engage in meaningful daily activities tailored to their needs and interests.


Activities include:

  • Sensory-friendly outings and cinema trips
  • Beach walks, forest walks, climbing and outdoor activities
  • Theme parks, structured day trips and community access
  • Creative activities and engagement-based support
  • Supporting independence, life skills, and daily routines
  • Safe and supported community access and travel


Every day is shaped around the individual - no two days are the same.


Support Worker – Key Responsibilities

£13.85 per hour | 36.25 hours (days) / 35.88 hours (nights – rolling rota)

  • Deliver consistent, person-centred support
  • Support independence, wellbeing and daily structure
  • Facilitate community access and activities
  • Work as part of a stable, supportive team
  • Follow care plans and maintain accurate records


Senior Support Worker – Key Responsibilities

£14.75 per hour | 36.25 hours per week (days)

  • Lead and support a small, dedicated team (3:1 support model)
  • Mentor and guide Support Workers
  • Deliver Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches
  • Support planning, routines, and consistency of care
  • Respond confidently to complex or escalating situations
  • Promote high-quality, person-centred practice

We are specifically looking for people who are:

✔ Experienced in autism, learning disabilities, complex needs, or dysregulated behaviours
✔ Confident using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches
✔ Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient under pressure
✔ Consistent, reliable, and team-focused
✔ Skilled in building trust and positive relationships
✔ Creative, flexible, and solution-focused
✔ A driver with a full UK driving licence (essential for day shifts due to community access)
