Director of Marketing & Communications - Pre-opening Regent Kuala Lumpur

1. Brand Strategy & Positioning

  • - Develop and execute an integrated marketing and communications strategy aligned with Regent brand standards and hotel business objectives

  • - Position the hotel as an ultra-luxury lifestyle and hospitality destination within the local and international market

  • - Ensure all brand messaging, visual identity, and guest communications consistently reflect Regent’s luxury positioning

  • - Protect and enhance the integrity, prestige, and reputation of the Regent brand

2. Marketing Campaigns & Commercial Support

  • - Lead development of strategic marketing campaigns to drive awareness, revenue, and market share across Rooms, F&B, Wellness, and Events

  • - Collaborate with Revenue, Sales, and Operations teams to support commercial initiatives and business priorities

  • - Develop targeted campaigns for luxury leisure, high-net-worth travelers, weddings, wellness, dining, and corporate segments

  • - Monitor campaign performance and optimize ROI through data-driven insights

3. Public Relations & Media Management

  • - Develop and maintain strong relationships with media, influencers, luxury publications, and key opinion leaders

  • - Lead PR strategies, media hosting, interviews, press releases, and brand storytelling initiatives

  • - Position the hotel for awards, rankings, and industry recognition

  • - Manage crisis communication and reputation management where required

4. Digital Marketing & Social Media

  • - Oversee all digital channels including website, social media platforms, online partnerships, and digital advertising

  • - Ensure strong digital presence aligned with luxury consumer behavior and travel trends

  • - Curate high-quality content, photography, and storytelling that elevate the hotel’s positioning

  • - Monitor online reputation, guest reviews, and engagement metrics

5. Content Creation & Storytelling

  • - Develop compelling brand narratives that highlight the property’s design, experiences, wellness, culinary offerings, and destination connection

  • - Ensure all content reflects sophistication, authenticity, and emotional engagement

  • - Lead creation of luxury visual assets, campaigns, editorials, and guest-facing communications

  • - Collaborate with creative agencies, photographers, videographers, and designers

6. Events, Partnerships & Activations

  • - Curate luxury brand partnerships, collaborations, and experiential activations

  • - Support high-profile events, launches, and cultural or lifestyle experiences that strengthen brand visibility

  • - Work with luxury brands, artists, designers, and influencers to enhance positioning and guest engagement

7. Budget & Performance Management

  • - Develop and manage the Marketing & Communications budget

  • - Ensure effective allocation of resources across campaigns, partnerships, PR, and digital platforms

  • - Track performance metrics, ROI, and market impact of all initiatives

  • - Prepare reports and strategic insights for hotel leadership and ownership

8. Leadership & Team Development

  • - Lead, mentor, and inspire the Marketing & Communications team

  • - Foster creativity, innovation, collaboration, and brand excellence within the department

  • - Support development of future marketing talent and succession planning

  • - Ensure strong alignment with Regent service philosophy and culture

9. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • - Work closely with Sales, Revenue, F&B, Wellness, Rooms, and Operations teams to align messaging and campaigns

  • - Collaborate with corporate marketing and regional commercial teams on brand initiatives

  • - Maintain strong communication with ownership stakeholders and external partners

10. Compliance & Brand Governance

  • - Ensure all marketing and communication activities comply with IHG brand standards and corporate guidelines

  • - Maintain consistency in tone, imagery, and brand representation across all channels

  • - Ensure proper management of intellectual property, licensing, and usage rights

Qualifications & Experience

  • - Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Business, or related field

  • - 8–12 years of progressive marketing and communications experience, preferably within luxury hospitality or lifestyle brands

  • - Minimum 3–5 years in a leadership role

  • - International luxury hospitality exposure preferred

Preferred Experience

  • - Pre-opening luxury hotel or resort experience

  • - Experience working with luxury brands, media, and global PR agencies

  • - Strong background in digital storytelling, social media strategy, and experiential marketing

  • -Multi-market or regional marketing exposure advantageous
