MAJOR DUTIES FOR THE GS-13: As an HR Specialist in the Office of Human Capital (OHC) Internal Controls Unit (ICU), you will conduct and oversee accountability and compliance audits and quality assurance reviews for a variety of human resources services i.e., awards, benefits, employee relations, classification, recruitment, delegated examining, merit promotion, compensation, personnel processing, payroll, and time and attendance. The focus is to ensure compliance with governing laws, regulations, and policies and to identify OHC programs and policies requiring improvement. Specifically, you will: Serve as an expert advisor providing human resources accountability and compliance services; Perform a variety of analytical and evaluative studies of human resources programs, policies, and operational activities to assess customer satisfaction, compliance and effectiveness; Prepare reports of findings and make recommendations for improvement and training, strengthening compliance and accountability; Develop corrective action plans and ensure issues are corrected and remediate; Serve as audit liaison with internal and external organizations. Salary: The salary range indicated in this announcement reflects the lowest and highest potential salaries for this position.
