Job Summary

You will support residents at Jamiyah Halfway House by attending to their daily needs, conducting engagement sessions, ensuring safety and order, assisting in programme planning, and providing operational support during shifts on a rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to residents’ daily needs, complaints, and requests to ensure their well-being
  • Conduct daily engagement sessions with residents to foster communication and support
  • Perform routine checks of dorms, vehicles, lockers, kitchens, rooms, and conduct body checks to maintain safety and order
  • Manage proper handover of cash, keys, property, and resident headcount to ensure accountability
  • Prepare and submit timely reports on incidents, hospitalisations, and case updates for accurate record-keeping
  • Identify and report behavioural or emotional concerns to Case/Social Workers for appropriate follow-up
  • Assist the Team Leader in planning and organising programmes, workshops, and outings to enhance resident engagement
  • Monitor and report on estate matters including facilities, vehicles, and equipment to maintain operational readiness
  • Adhere to workplace safety and health (WSH) guidelines to promote a safe environment
  • Escort residents to appointments and Jamiyah events to provide support and supervision
  • Provide operational and logistical assistance during programmes and events to ensure smooth execution
  • Participate actively in Jamiyah and Halfway House events to support community involvement
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of Operations or Team Leader to meet organisational needs

Required competencies and certifications

  • Minimum GCE 'O' Level or NITEC in Commercial Studies or a relevant field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) with ability to handle basic data and reporting
  • Willingness to work on a rotating shift schedule

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Prior experience in institutional operations, facility management, or a similar environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage residents with empathy and assertiveness
  • Responsible, observant, disciplined, team-oriented, able to follow protocols and maintain confidentiality
