Practical Nurse (Outpatient)

About the Position: This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma Washington. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Typical duty hours are Monday through Friday from 0730-1600. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Provide individualized nursing care to patients based upon the physician’s medical care plan, the nursing assessment, and the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the patient.

Assist the physician with various examinations and diagnostic procedures.

Prepare medications and immunizations for administration.

Perform routine procedures, such as EKGs, eye, throat, nasal and/or wound cultures, dressing changes, ear irrigation, and application of bandages.

Perform specialized procedures such as cardiac stress testing on treadmills or bicycles. Administers necessary medications for echocardiogram bubble studies and stress testing echocardiograms.
